Wow, Elizabeth, I love your piece. The depth is incredible and I want to see it closer and read all the words. I think I'll HAVE to make a trip to Columbus near the end of the year so we can all see the pieces in real life! Is pink in the color wheel!!??? Susan

Both of your pieces are stunning!
I was a prisoner of sorting for the move today. I sewed the pieces for my layers yesterday and got to do nothing today. I have no idea when I am going to get to put the thing together.
I have to finish the edges of the dimensional pieces, sew the squares for the grass and mount everything into the shadow box. Hopefully I will get to work on it this week.

I think both of your pieces look much larger than 10X20. It must be the complexity of the layers.

Elizabeth could you pleasze bring yours to sudy group on Weds? I would like to look at it up close.

Here's my completed January challenge piece!

Nearing Completion

The surface of my January piece is complete -- the only remaining thing to do is add the texture with some thread and put a little edge to it. Hope everyone's having fun with this.

Hi Ladies,
I am writing in to see if I can figure out how this works.
I am going to spend the rest of today trying to finish layers 2 and 3 of my Suess houses and put them onto the base.
My friend Jim built me a beautiful shadow box for the completed piece and I have to figure out how to finish the edges and secure it in the box.
I will be back on for ideas, advice, and problem-solving if I can't figure anything out on my own.

Working at it

I'm happily working away on my January piece. I thought I was going to use the blue, but decided instead on the dark fuschia. Guess January already makes me blue so thought I'd warm things up. By all accounts, this will be a floral piece -- but what kind remains to be seen. I've been stamping and stenciling and cutting and printing -- I think it needs some more ink and layers. Hoping to unveil it soon.

Hi Ladies -- trying to figure out how to post a photo. Here's my test. This is my completed water lily challenge. I named it Metro Gardens as the pictures were taken at Como Park in St. Paul and Inniswood Gardens in Westerville.

I'm Dreaming of a Small Quilt Top

That goes to the tune of "White Christmas" -- except don't think snow -- think COLOR! Actually, I'm still working on a water lily challenge -- and it is so close to done I can taste it. While I work on it, I'm thinking of what my January 2010 piece will be. Our bundle of colors is so scrumptious.

Is January blue? Or is it green? Or do I want to warm it up with orange? Now that's a true dilemma.

Now if I could just get the "In the Bleak Midwinter" tune out of my head! Need to replace it with "Heat Wave".
